NOTE: |
Panel established Back to top DS236: United States — Preliminary determinations with respect to certain softwood lumber from Canada At the second-time request by Canada, the DSB established a panel to examine the above case. Canada alleges that the US Department of Commerce's preliminary determinations are inconsistent with WTO rules. The US said that its determinations were preliminary and subject to change and that Canada's request for a panel was premature. DS189: Argentina — Definitive anti-dumping measures on imports of ceramic floor tiles from Italy Argentina informed the DSB that it intended to implement the findings in this case and that it would need a reasonable period of time to do so. Argentina said it was currently discussing this issue with the European Communities. The EC said that, in view of the multiple violations found by the panel and of the fact that no legislative act was required to repeal the anti-dumping measures, Argentina should implement immediately. The EC confirmed that discussions on this matter were taking place. A special meeting of the DSB will take place on 10 December 2001. The next regular meeting of the DSB is scheduled for 18 December 2001 |
