The aim
of the courses is to provide online training on matters related to
international trade and WTO agreements to officials from developing
countries. The first four courses in 2008 cover:
Introduction to the WTO (222
participants)
Technical Barriers to Trade
(159 participants)
Agriculture in the WTO (157
participants) and
Sanitary and Phytosanitary
Measures (94 participants).
The courses will last six weeks from 25 February
to 4 April.
During the courses, participants will be guided by a course administrator
based at the WTO. They will also enjoy online tutoring from WTO experts and
an online Help Desk for technical support.
Course materials are accessed through a specially created web site.
Participants will have many opportunities to chat live with WTO experts on
various WTO topics. In the last week of the course, the Director-General of
the WTO, Pascal Lamy, will have an online chat with the participants on the
latest progress of the Doha negotiations.
