The mission of ISO is to promote the development of standardization and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods and services, and to developing cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic activity.

 Joint Vienna Institute (JVI)
The JVI is an international training institute located in Vienna, Austria. It was launched in 1992 by five international organizations and the Austrian authorities to respond rapidly to the large demand from economies in transition to train officials in market economics and the free enterprise system. The JVI status was changed in 2003 from a temporary into a permanent training institute in which the WTO is together with the IMF the most active member. The JVI is currently supported by six international organizations: the IMF, the Bank for International Settlements, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the  International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the OECD and the WTO as well as the Austrian Authorities (Oesterreichische Nationalbank and the Ministry of Finance).

The WCO, established in 1952 as the Customs Co-operation Council, is an independent intergovernmental body with world-wide membership whose mission is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Customs administrations.
