How to bolster public and political support for trade?

For 60 years, trade has been one of the most important economic factors linking countries and raising living standards. But the financial crisis and increased costs in food and energy have fuelled public scepticism about trade and led to a surge in protectionist sentiment in several countries. How can stakeholders improve the climate for trade? Anthony Gooch, Director of Public Affairs and Communications, OECD, and Alexandre Parola, Minister, Permanent Mission of Brazil to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva, discuss the issues with Keith Rockwell, WTO Spokesperson.
