Members wished Equatorial Guinea every success in its accession process and hoped it would become a new member soon.

Members stressed that as an LDC, Equatorial Guinea should undertake commitments that are consistent with the level of its development.

Accession procedures for LDCs are simplified and applicants have the possibility to regularly participate in intensive training courses and seminars organised by the WTO.

The establishment of the working party for Equatorial Guinea brings to 28 the number of countries negotiating their accession into the WTO.
