DG Azevêdo sought Nepal’s support in efforts to implement the Bali Package, including the Trade Facilitation Agreement, as well as in preparing a work programme to conclude the Doha Development Agenda. During his visit, he also met with the Minister for Commerce and Supplies, Sunil Bahadur Thapa.

As the visit was coming to a close, DG Azevêdo tweeted that he had had an “excellent conversation” with the Prime Minister, and reiterated that “the multilateral trading system must work for LDCs like Nepal”
