This donation will finance technical assistance programmes and training
activities for developing and least developed countries. The aim is to better
adapt their practices and laws to WTO rules and disciplines, improve the
implementation of their obligations and enhance the exercise of their membership
rights.
WTO Director General Pascal Lamy declared “I am very pleased of Luxembourg’s
support to developing countries through the DDAGTF. It will improve their
participation in the multilateral trading system”.
Ambassador Jean Feyder stated “ Since the creation of the DDAGTF in 2001,
Luxembourg has continuously assisted the poorest countries in understanding the
WTO rules to find new trading partners”.
This donation is a 80% increase from last year’s contribution and Luxembourg’s
participation to the DDAGTF amounts now to EUR900,000.
