Since 2002, Korea’s total contributions to the Trust Fund have reached USD 4,382,000 (CHF  3,918,000).

“Korea's contribution comes at an opportune moment as the 9th Ministerial Conference in Bali is looming. Korea's generosity will play an important role in strengthening the capacity of developing countries and least-developed countries to participate effectively in negotiations and to make full use of the multilateral trading system,” declared WTO Director General Roberto Azevêdo.

Seokyoung Choi, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, stated that “Korea will support developing and least-developed countries in better understanding WTO rules, with the aim of expanding their trading activities and making trade a tool for growth, development and poverty reduction. Trade is even more crucial instrument, given the economic difficulties we are facing today.”
