The objective is to help developing and least-developed members participate effectively in the Doha round of negotiations and implement WTO agreements.

Since 2003, the EU’s total contributions to the various WTO Trust Funds have reached EUR 13,195,000 (CHF 16,230,000).

“I welcome this donation. The EU’s generosity will play an important role in strengthening the capacity of developing and least-developed countries to fully participate in the multilateral trading system, including in the on-going negotiations,” declared WTO Director-General Roberto Azevêdo.

Angelos Pangratis, Ambassador of the European Union, stated that “The WTO’s trade-related technical assistance activities play an important role in ensuring that developing and least‑developed Members are at ease with the WTO rulebook and can fully engage in the negotiations. The EU’s donation to the DDAGTF contributes to assisting these Members make the best use of trade as a tool for development.”
