This contribution will ensure that developing and least-developed countries participate effectively in the multilateral trading system.
The contribution comes on top of recent donations of AUD 2,000,000 (CHF 1,650,000) to the Enhanced Integrated Framework, AUD 1,000,000 (CHF 827,000) to the International Trade Centre, and AUD 400,000 to the WTO Trade Facilitation National Needs Assessments Fund.
Australia’s Ambassador to the WTO, Mr Hamish McCormick, stated: “Australia is pleased to be continuing our support for the WTO’s technical assistance and training programmes. These programmes help developing and least-developed countries harness the maximum benefits of international trade for their economic growth and poverty reduction efforts.”
