This donation will finance various trade-related technical assistance activities to help developing and least-developed countries (LDCs) to strengthen their participation in the Doha Development Round.

“I welcome this new donation which demonstrates Liechtenstein's continuous efforts to help developing and least-developed countries benefit from the multilateral trading system and better integrate into the global economy,” declared WTO Director-General Roberto Azevêdo.

Liechtenstein's ambassador Peter Matt stated: “Liechtenstein has continuously supported WTO trade-related technical assistance activities for developing and least-developed countries and is pleased to continue this support. Technical assistance in capacity building and enabling developing countries and LDCs to make full use of the multilateral trading system are particularly important in view of the ongoing negotiations in the WTO.”
