NEWS: 1996 PRESS RELEASES PRESS/53 World Trade Organization Director-General Renato Ruggiero today announced the appointment of Mr. Keith Rockwell to the position of Director, Information and Media Relations Division. Mr. Rockwell will take up his duties in mid-September |

 Mr. Rockwell has had a distinguished career in journalism. He has been with the New York Journal of Commerce since 1980. In addition to various editorial positions, Mr. Rockwell has been the Journal's European Bureau Chief. Since 1995, he has been Chief of the Journal's Washington Bureau. Mr. Rockwell, who is a US national, is married with two children. In announcing Mr. Rockwell's appointment, Mr. Ruggiero said “I am very pleased to welcome a media professional of Keith Rockwell's standing to the WTO team. He will have an important contribution to make in communicating the fundamental importance of the multilateral trading system for international prosperity and stability”. |
