New dataset on TBT specific trade concerns

A new dataset on specific trade concerns (STCs) raised by WTO members in the Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee has been constructed by the WTO’s Economic Research and Statistics Division for the World Trade Report 2012. The dataset contains information on 318 STCs raised from 1995 to 2011 at the Harmonized System (HS), Revision 2, four-digit level. Each STC corresponds to a concern about a TBT measure maintained by one or more WTO members on one or more products.

Section C of the World Trade Report 2012 provides various breakdowns of TBT specific trade concerns. Data are also available in a searchable format in the TBT Information Management System.

The WTO also maintains a database of STCs raised by WTO members in the Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Committee. This is available in a searchable format in the SPS Information Management System. The database used for this World Trade Report is provided below in Excel format. The information is as of November 2011.
