TRIPS Cooperation with other intergovernmental organizations The preamble to the WTO’s intellectual property agreement calls for “a mutually supportive relationship between the WTO and the World Intellectual Property Organization […] as well as other relevant international organizations”. The agreement also refers specifically to a number of WIPO conventions. Cooperation has also developed between the WTO and other international and regional organizations. See also: |

Other organizations back to top The WTO Secretariat also cooperates with a range of other intergovernmental organizations on intellectual property issues, where appropriate. These include (links open the organizations’ websites in a new window):
The cooperation includes participating in these organizations’ meetings as an observer, working together on technical assistance (particularly with the WHO on matters related to TRIPS and public health) and other help that staff in the organizations give to each other.
