Consultations

Complaint by Thailand.

On 20 June 1996, Thailand requested consultations with Turkey concerning Turkey’s imposition of quantitative restrictions on imports of textile and clothing products from Thailand. Violations of GATT Articles I, II, XI and XIII as well as Article 2 of the Textiles Agreement are alleged. Earlier, Hong Kong (WT/DS29) and India (WT/DS34) separately requested consultations with Turkey on the same measure.
