PROTOCOL FOR THE ACCESSION OF VENEZUELA

TO THE GENERAL AGREEMENT ON TARIFFS AND TRADE

DONE AT GENEVA ON 26 JULY 1990

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCES

ENTRY INTO FORCE OF THE PROTOCOL

I have the honour to inform you that on 1 August 1990 the Government of Venezuela accepted the above-mentioned Protocol. The acceptance was accompanied by the following statement:

"The period provided for in paragraph 6 shall begin to run from this date, but the entry into force of the Protocol of Accession shall remain subject to the notification which the Government of Venezuela shall make upon the completion of the relevant constitutional requirements".

In terms of its paragraph 6, the Protocol shall enter into force for Venezuela on 31 August 1990 and Venezuela shall become a contracting party on that date.

On the same day of 1 August 1990, the Protocol was accepted by the following Governments:

Argentina Hungary

Bangladesh New Zealand

Brazil Nicaragua

Canada Peru

Chile Spain

Colombia Switzerland

Cuba Uruguay

France Yugoslavia

This notification is furnished in accordance with paragraph 5 of the Protocol.
