PROTOCOL FOR THE ACCESSION OF COSTA RICA

TO THE GENERAL AGREEMENT ON TARIFFS AND TRADE

DONE AT GENEVA ON 20 NOVEMBER 1989

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE

ENTRY INTO FORCE

I have the honour to inform you that on 25 October 1990* I

received from the Government of Costa Rica an instrument of ratification of the above-mentioned Protocol, thereby recognizing as fully binding the signature affixed by its plenipotentiary on 24 November 1989.

In terms of its paragraph 8, the Protocol shall enter into force for Costa Rica on 24 November 1990, and in terms of paragraph 1, Costa Rica will become a contracting party on that date.

This notification is furnished in accordance with paragraph 11 of the Protocol.

*The CONTRACTING PARTIES, by Decision of 16 June 1990 (document L/6693) decided to extend the time-limit for acceptance by Costa Rica of its Protocol of Accession to 30 September 1990. On 3 October 1990 the CONTRACTING PARTIES further extended the time-limit for acceptance by Costa Rica of its Protocol to 31 December 1990 (document L/6734).
