PROTOCOL MAINTAINING IN FORCE THE ARRANGEMENT

REGARDING INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN TEXTILES

DONE AT GENEVA ON 31 JULY 1991

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCES

I have the honour to inform you that, on 29 November 1991, I received from the Government of India a letter of acceptance of the above-mentioned Protocol. The text of the letter is attached herewith.

In accordance with paragraph 3 of the Protocol, it entered into force for India on 29 November 1991.

I also have the honour to inform you that, on 4 December 1991, the Government of Canada deposited with me an instrument of ratification of the above-mentioned Protocol, thereby recognizing as fully binding the signature affixed by its plenipotentiary on 7 August 1991.

In accordance with paragraph 3 of the Protocol, it entered into force for Canada on 4 December 1991.

Furthermore, I have the honour to inform you that the Government of Indonesia accepted the Protocol on 11 December 1991.

In accordance with paragraph 3 of the Protocol, it entered into force for Indonesia on 11 December 1991.

TEXT OF LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE DATED 28 NOVEMBER 1991 RECEIVED

FROM THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA ON 29 NOVEMBER 1991

I have been instructed by my authorities to inform you that the Government of India accepts, without reservation, the Protocol extending the Arrangement regarding International Trade in Textiles, done at Geneva on 31 July 1991.

However, my authorities would like to register their protest over the decision to extend the Arrangement for a further period of 17 months without any improvement thereon.
