AGREEMENT ON IMPLEMENTATION OF ARTICLE VII OF

THE GENERAL AGREEMENT ON TARIFFS AND TRADE

DONE AT GENEVA ON 12 APRIL 1979

Notification of Acceptance

 

I have the honour to inform you that on 4 June 1993 the above-mentioned

Agreement was accepted by the Government of Morocco. In accordance with Article 24 of the Agreement, it will enter into force for Morocco on 4 July 1993. The acceptance by the Government of Morocco was accompanied by the following communication:

The Kingdom of Morocco hereby notifies its acceptance of the

Agreement on Implementation of Article VII of the General Agreement on

Tariffs and Trade.

However, in conformity with the provisions of the Agreement and its Protocol, the Kingdom of Morocco enters the following reservations:

- The application of all the provisions of the Agreement and its Protocol shall be delayed for a period of five years, in accordance with Article 21 of the Agreement.

- The application of the provisions of Article 1.2(b)(iii) and Article 6 shall be delayed for a period of three years following the application of all other provisions of the Agreement.

- The right to provide that the relevant provision of Article 4 of the Agreement on Implementation of Article VII of the General Agreement

shall apply only when the customs authorities agree to the request to

reverse the order of Articles 5 and 6.

93-0936 - The right to provide that the provisions of Article 5.2 of the Agreement shall be applied in accordance with the provisions of the relevant note thereto whether or not the importers so request.

This notification is furnished in accordance with Article 30 of the Agreement.
