1. The present report by the Chairman of the International Dairy Products Council is submitted in accordance with the Decision of 28 November 1979 (BISD 26S/201, paragraph 4), and in conformity with an agreement reached in the International Dairy Products Council at its meeting in September 1994 (L/7532, paragraph 13). This report complements the previous report issued on 21 November 1994 as document L/7562 on the activities of the International Dairy Arrangement in 1994.

2. The three Protocol Committees held their sixtieth session on 12 December 1994 to discuss matters relating to the operation of the Protocols (DPC/PTL/47). The Committees reviewed the replies to the questionnaires and took note of the summary tables contained in the Annex to the Annual Report. They also reviewed the market situation for products covered by the Protocols.

3. With regard to transitional arrangements with respect to the entry into force of the International Dairy Agreement, an ad hoc meeting of countries having indicated their intention to participate in the new International Dairy Agreement was held. A Decision on such transitional arrangements was agreed upon and distributed as document L/7568.
