General Council takes steps to increase public access to WTO information

Members of the WTO's General Council agreed on 18 July on guidelines for improving transparency and furthering contacts between the WTO and the public, including representatives of non-governmental organizations concerned with matters related to those of the WTO. Members agreed to make more information about WTO activities available and decided that public information, including derestricted WTO documents, would be accessible on line. Efforts also will be made to derestrict new documents more quickly.
