This colloquium is the third held by the two organizations. The main
objective of the colloquium is to update university teachers of
intellectual property in developing countries and countries with
economies in transition on the activities and instruments of the WIPO
and the WTO and to provide a forum for exchange of information and ideas
between them and the two secretariats on these matters. The emphasis
would be on recent developments and on policy issues under debate in the
two organizations. The colloquium would also be an opportunity to
exchange views on teaching methodologies and outsourcing of technical
cooperation.
This event is part of the programmes of the two organizations aimed at
enhancing the capacity of universities in developing countries and in
countries with economies in transition to develop national expertise for
teaching and policy advice to governments on matters dealt with by the
WIPO and WTO.

transition. Expenses for the 20 participants from developing countries
