WTO FORUM
How can trade help achieve the Millennium Development Goals?
At the turn of the Millennium, the United Nations established an ambitious series of objectives — the Millenium Development Goals — designed to reduce poverty and improve standards of living by 2015. MDG 8 has a special relevance for the WTO, as it sets the objective of a global partnership for Development. How can trade and the WTO contribute for this and other MDGs? Festus Mogae, former President of Botswana, and Jeremy Hobbs, Executive Director of Oxfam International, discuss this issue with Keith Rockwell, WTO Spokesperson.
This debate was recorded on the sidelines of the WTO Public Forum 2010.
