Digital trade is transforming manufacturing, improving productivity, boosting innovation and the quality of goods and services; it eliminates distances, creates connectivity and allows access to the global market in an inclusive manner. This session will examine how everybody – developed and developing economies, large companies and SMEs, women, consumers and workers – can benefit from digital trade. The panellists will also discuss the challenges digital trade may pose and how these can be overcome. In this framework, emphasis will be put on the role of the WTO and its Members is promoting digital trade and ensuring global and fair rules.
