The session will highlight the inclusive nature of the sporting goods industry, an inclusiveness that is based on both local and global integration of SMEs in the industry's global value chains, and the digitalization revolution. Multinational companies in the sporting goods industry are interdependent on SMEs for the latest innovation, technologies and services. Moreover, the digitalization of manufacturing, where research, design and production is digital, requires an appropriate framework in which it can operate. Digitalization brings with it immense opportunities, but also challenges, for business development provided by e-commerce platforms. Market access through e-commerce is not only inclusive, but brings with it challenges when promoting businesses' intellectual property rights. Ultimately, the industry is keen on creating an inclusive and empowering environment for both athletes and employees throughout the entire value chain. The panel of this session would exclusively consist of women working as trade experts in the sporting goods industry.
