This session will focus on the book entitle "The Law of the World Trade Organization (WTO)". It is a book for students of international trade law, normally graduate students and the first comprehensive textbook in Spanish that covers all the rules and practices of the World Trade Organization, including the latest developments. The breadth of the coverage necessarily requires a lengthy publication, about 1100 pages.

The book has thirty-four chapters clustered into eleven titles, ranging from the historical development and economic bases of free trade, to the future of the WTO and including  the legal and institutional order; trade in goods; services; intellectual property; plurilateral agreements; the control and surveillance mechanisms; and new trade issues. Each chapter has a similar structure: the origin of the subject matter; a description and analysis of the current rules; the author's reflections on possible amendments; and, if relevant, the jurisprudence.

The authors are of various nationalities (Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Russia, Spain, United States, Uruguay and RB de Venezuela) and well-known experts or WTO officials responsible for the relevant topic.
