In the session "SME Participation in GVCs: Best Practices for Capacity Building", prominent actors in the field of trade related technical assistance will share information and insights on what works and what does not work when it comes to assisting developing country SMEs to connect to regional or global value chains. Making reference to real life examples, practitioners will notably discuss what can be done to provide SMEs with information on market opportunities, to connect them to lead firms, to assist them in getting access to finance, trade related services or technology, or to strengthen their capacity to meet standards and regulations. In addition, participants will assess what can be done to enhance the exchange of information regarding best practices in the design and implementation of technical assistance projects in this domain.
