For the first time, four eTraining courses for government officials from developing countries will run in parallel:

  • Introduction to the WTO

  • Technical Barriers to Trade in the WTO

  • Trade Remedies and the WTO

  • Agriculture in the WTO

Starting on 12 February 2007, the eTraining Winter Term for government officials from developing countries will run until 30 March, reaching out to more than 500 participants from all over the world. The four courses will be held in English. Subsequent terms will offer courses in Spanish and French and the programme will be continuously enhanced to cover further topics.

The new eTraining platform features the latest web-based multimedia technologies to deliver interactive courses on the WTO and its Agreements. Its objective is to bridge distances and provide high quality capacity-building to officials from developing countries, creating a knowledge base that can be further enhanced by advanced face-to-face seminars. Participants will have access to online materials, discussion forum, internal email system and the opportunity to chat live with WTO experts.
