The Global Trade-Related Technical Assistance
Database (GTAD) has been developed to ensure a coordinated approach to the
design and implementation of technical assistance programmes among partner
agencies, beneficiaries and donors.
By displaying the future technical assistance activities of partner
agencies, the database will help to reduce the duplication of activities and
enhance the efficiency of their delivery. An advanced search facility allows
information to be displayed in a multitude of ways, including by subject,
country and/or agency.
The database
In addition to providing a comprehensive listing
of activities, the database also offers a step-by-step users' guide,
selected documentation from reporting institutions, such as the WTO's
Biennial Technical Assistance and Training Plans, annual reports on
technical assistance and training activities, and guidelines for conducting
needs assessments. The database also provides links to other organizations'
Websites and databases.
Management of the database will be the collective responsibility of the
partner agencies, meeting at regular intervals to take decisions on its
operation and strategic directions.
All agencies active in the field of trade-related technical assistance are
invited to join the project and to contribute to the database.
Password-protected access will allow institutions to upload their data
independently at any time.
Any institution wishing to join the project is invited to contact the WTO
Secretariat at the following address:
