The UN Secretary-General’s campaign “UNiTE to End Violence against Women” chose orange as a bright and optimistic colour, representing a future free from violence against women and girls.

Director-General Roberto Azevêdo said: “The issue of violence against women is a matter of concern to all of us. The WTO is committed to playing its part — both internationally by supporting the UN's work on this issue and locally by raising awareness and supporting dedicated community organisations here in Geneva.”

The WTO supports the UN’s “Orange the World” initiative.
