This year marks the WTO's 20th anniversary. The Public Forum will be an opportunity to assess the WTO's contribution to the world economy and to look ahead to what the future holds for the Organization. The Forum will focus on how trade helps to foster growth, reduce poverty and increase access to goods, medicines and innovation. The Forum will also look at what makes trade work and how countries can use trade to integrate into the global economy. More on this year's theme is available here.

 

Call for proposals

Sessions at the Public Forum are organized by participants. The WTO will select the best proposals and allocate the slots. In order to qualify for selection, organisers will need to complete an application form and send it to [email protected] no later than 1 June 2015.

 

Background

The Public Forum is an annual event which was first launched in 2001. It provides a platform for public debate and discussion across a wide range of WTO issues and activities. The Public Forum has become one of the most important platforms for dialogue between the stakeholders of the WTO. Over the years, more than 10,000 representatives from civil society, academia, business, the media, governments, parliamentarians and inter-governmental organizations have attended the Public Forum.
