WTO TRAINING COURSES

MORE:

This new course, organized jointly by the WTO's Trade in Services Division and the Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation, is part of the WTO's technical assistance and capacity building programme. It falls within the WTO's Progressive Learning Strategy and is classified as “level 3” — the highest level of ”specialist” training.

The purpose of this course is to deepen the participants' understanding of the main provisions of the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS), to familiarize them with trade in services analytical tools, to help them gain greater insights into services-related policies — such as movement of persons, and investment — and to consolidate their understanding of emerging negotiating issues in trade in services.

Participants have an opportunity to enhance their skills by exploring policy and technical issues related to trade in services. As part of the programme, participants will visit the Advisory Centre for WTO Law in Geneva. They will also exchange views with Geneva-based delegates during a roundtable discussion.
