WTO TRAINING COURSES

MORE:

Mr Ihara commended the participants on their hard work and encouraged them to make good use of their enhanced knowledge and skills in trade policy making back home.

The Advanced Trade Policy Course focused on helping participants develop and apply practical skills on issues such as: trade policy analysis, formulation and implementation; trade negotiations; dispute settlement; transparency and trade monitoring.

The course’s training methodology was highly interactive, including exercises and case studies, simulations, hands-on use of WTO databases and analytical tools, and roundtable discussions. This approach enabled interactions with not only the WTO and external experts — but also delegates from WTO members.

The participants had an opportunity to attend a number of WTO meetings as well as visit other international organisations, including the United Nations and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Details of the course are provided in the Course Booklet and the Final Programme.
