The course focused on the Paris Agreement and its rulebook, its trade-related aspects, and the linkages with WTO rules and activities (including the recent leadership dialogue on trade and the environment and the joint publication with UN Environment "Making Trade Work for the Environment, Prosperity and Resilience"). It also addressed recent efforts in the WTO's Committee on Trade and Environment to advance the mutual supportiveness between trade and environmental policies, the relationship between WTO rules and multilateral environmental agreements and disputes relating to environmental protection at the WTO.
The 30 participants were from Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, the United States and Uruguay. The sessions were webcast live for the benefit of those unable to attend in person.
