DG Azevêdo heard from the Group on their work in the area of trade, responsible business conduct and human rights, particularly their upcoming report focusing on gender and women’s economic empowerment in the context of the UN Guiding Principles on business and human rights. DG Azevêdo discussed how these issues relate to the ongoing work of the WTO and gave an update on specific issues in this area which WTO members have been pursuing, particularly regarding women’s economic empowerment.
