The WTO Secretariat is co-leading with the United Arab Emirates COP28 Presidency the first ever “Trade Day” at a COP on 4 December in cooperation with UNCTAD, ICC, the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED).

Several high-level events are being lined up for Trade Day, including an event titled “Global Leaders Unite to Promote A Roadmap of Trade Policy Options for a Just and Ambitious Global Response To Climate Change.” Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will participate in several high-level events, such as the World Climate Action Summit and the Business and Philanthropy Climate Forum. The WTO Secretariat's COP28 portal is available here. It will be regularly updated with event details, news stories, photos and other resources.

Throughout the conference, activities will be held at the Trade House pavilion, a dedicated space to spark discussions and solutions on how trade can help drive climate and sustainable development actions. The pavilion is hosted by four international agencies: ICC, ITC, UNCTAD and the WTO Secretariat. Activities at the Trade House will focus on accelerating climate action through trade-led development, using coordinated and inclusive approaches to ensure a just transition to a low-carbon economy. The Trade House webpage is available here.
