WTO TRAINING COURSES
More
The aim of the course is to enable participants to gain a clear understanding of the functioning, structure and governance principles of the WTO. Participants acquire the basic tools and resources needed to carry out their duties more efficiently, thereby helping to promote the more active participation of their countries in WTO activities.
The training was developed in such a way as to take into account current issues of particular interest to the target countries. The course most notably emphasizes the link between WTO activities and trade policy issues specific to LDCs. Specific priorities and challenges for their countries and the future WTO work programme will be presented to government officials at a round-table session. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend official meetings of WTO bodies, thus enabling them to better understand how the Organization works.
The course is a Level 1 course in the context of the WTO's Progressive Learning Strategy. It opens up the possibility for participants to access intermediate Level 2 courses, such as the Regional Trade Policy Course or the online course on the Multilateral Trade Agreements, and thus perfect their knowledge regarding the topics covered by the WTO.
The participants come from Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Comoros, the DRC, Haiti, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Senegal and Togo.
