STATE TRADING ENTERPRISES

More

The Working Party reviewed new notifications on state trading enterprises from eleven members (Albania; Australia; Iceland; Macao, China; Montenegro; Nicaragua; North Macedonia; Seychelles; South Africa; Chinese Taipei; and Uruguay). Delegations also raised further questions on previous notifications from four members (China, India, Mauritius and the Philippines).

Regarding missing notifications, several members called for greater compliance with notification obligations and underlined the importance of transparency. The continued non-notification of state trading enterprises by the Russian Federation was also raised.

Ukraine and seven other members expressed their strong opposition to the actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. The Russian Federation responded that the Working Party was not the proper venue for statements of that nature.
