“Sweden’s donation will be important in helping to ensure that least-developed countries are able to participate fully in the WTO’s Ministerial Conference in Nairobi this December. I welcome Sweden's continuous efforts towards making global trade negotiations as inclusive as possible,” said WTO Director-General Roberto Azevêdo.

Sweden's Ambassador, Daniel Blockert said: “Sweden has always been at the forefront of efforts to help least-developed countries integrate into, and benefit from, the global trading system. The active participation of least-developed countries is an important component of a multilateral trading system that contributes to economic growth, poverty reduction and sustainable development.”

Since 2002, Sweden has donated SEK 363,655,537 (CHF 42,344,188) to WTO trust funds.
