WTO Director-General Roberto Azevêdo said: “I welcome Liechtenstein's donation. It will be important to help officials from developing and least-developed countries increase their knowledge and understanding of trade issues to help them connect to global markets.”

Liechtenstein's Ambassador, Peter Matt, said: “"By renewing our contribution to the WTO trade-related technical assistance fund, we underline our longstanding support for an inclusive rules-based multilateral trading system. We wish to help developing countries and LDCs make full use of this system and increase their trading opportunities. This contribution helps to fulfil our commitment under the UN Agenda 2030 of leaving no one behind.”

Overall, Liechtenstein has donated CHF 560,000 to WTO trust funds over the last 15 years.
