China's donation to the Trade Facilitation Agreement Facility (TFAF) will finance the capacity-building support needed by developing countries to implement the Agreement. TFAF assists these countries in assessing their specific needs and in identifying partners to fund capacity-building activities.

Director-General Roberto Azevêdo said: "China's generous donation will be essential to ensure that the poorest WTO members can benefit fully from the WTO's Trade Facilitation Agreement and the boost to their trading potential that the Agreement can deliver. I warmly welcome China's support."

China's Ambassador H.E. Zhang Xiangchen said: "China’s contribution to the Trade Facilitation Agreement Facility demonstrates its strong commitment to the multilateral trading system and to helping other developing and least-developed countries benefit through implementation of the Trade Facilitation Agreement."

Overall, China has donated more than CHF 4.6 million to WTO trust funds over the past 10 years.
