Over 2,900 activities have been organised under this fund over the past 20 years.

WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said: “I thank Liechtenstein for helping developing and least-developed countries strengthen their trade know-how so that they can take full advantage of the rules-based multilateral trading system. By promoting the benefits of trade, the WTO seeks to help these countries increase economic growth, raise living standards and improve people's lives.”

Liechtenstein's WTO Ambassador, Kurt Jäger, said: “Liechtenstein is pleased to be renewing its support for trade-related technical assistance activities for developing and least-developed countries. We have a responsibility to help these countries avail themselves of the economic benefits offered by the international trading system. Achieving an inclusive and sustainable multilateral trading system is essential so that trade can provide benefits to all and meet the challenges of the coming decades.”

Overall, Liechtenstein has contributed just over CHF 700,000 to this fund over the past 20 years.
