Committee on Budget, Finance and Administration

The Committee on Budget, Finance and Administration (CBFA) reviews the WTO budget and the financial statement presented by the Director-General and makes recommendations about these matters to the General Council. The CBFA also discusses any financial and administrative matters which are referred to it by the General Council or the Director-General. The CBFA is open to all WTO members. It meets between seven and ten times per year. The CBFA is currently chaired by .

The terms of reference and membership of the CBFA are available in document WT/L/44/Rev.1. At its first meeting on 17 February 1995, the CBFA agreed to follow the rules of procedure of the General Council, except those concerning votes as the Committee works by consensus.

Financial regulations and rules

The General Council approved the Financial Regulations that govern the financial administration of the WTO. The Director-General is responsible for establishing Financial Rules to carry out the provisions of these Regulations:
