Maximizing the economic diversification impact of Aid for Trade
Room S1 and Zoom 10 October 2022 – 15:00-17:30
The 2020-2022 Aid-for-Trade Work Programme is themed “Empowering Connected, Sustainable Trade”. This thematic event concludes the sequence of issues examined during the current Work Programme cycle and seeks to offer insights that can be taken forward in future work on economic and export diversification. The event seeks to examine how official development assistance, of which Aid for Trade is a subset, can act as a catalyst for private finance to maximize impacts on economic diversification. In addition, in light of the lessons drawn from the monitoring and evaluation exercise and from discussions held at the 2022 Global Review, speakers will also highlight the importance of sustainability, particularly in its environmental dimension, in future Aid-for-Trade assistance. This workshop will consider policy and practice perspectives.
