Complaint by the European Union

On 25 November 2024, the European Union requested consultations with China with respect to the provisional anti-dumping duties imposed by China on imports of spirits made from distilled wine in containers of less than 200 litres (commonly referred to as “brandy”) originating in the European Union.

The European Union claimed that the challenged measures appear to be inconsistent with Articles 2.1, 3, 3.1, 3.2, 3.4, 3.5, 3.7, 3.8, 5.2, 5.3, 5.8, 7.1, 7.4, 7.5, 9.4, 12.2 and 12.2.1 of the Anti-Dumping Agreement.
