Registration begins for public hearings of “US/Canada — Continued suspension of obligations in the EC—hormones dispute” (complainant EC) panels on 27-28 September and 2-3 October 2006 in Geneva

At the request of the parties in the disputes “Continued suspension of obligations in the EC — hormones dispute” (US — Continued suspension of obligations in the EC — hormones dispute, DS320; Canada — Continued suspension of obligations in the EC — hormones dispute, DS321) the panels have agreed to open their proceedings with the parties and scientific experts on 27-28 September and with the parties on 2-3 October 2006 for observation by WTO Members and the general public via closed-circuit broadcast to a separate viewing room at WTO Headquarters in Geneva.

The 200 places reserved for the public will be allocated on a first come first served basis upon receipt of the completed form below. Completed forms should be sent by e-mail only to the following address [email protected]. Applications will be accepted until all 200 places have been allocated, and at the latest midnight Geneva time, on 4 September, 2006. This date was selected to enable participants to make arrangements to attend. Those to whom seats have been allocated will be advised by email by 11 September 2006. They will need to present valid identification (passport) on-site to access the viewing room. Please note that no audio/video recording will be permitted. Security checks may delay access to the viewing room.

The WTO cannot offer any support, including financial, for accommodation, flight arrangements or visas.
