This colloquium is the second held by the two organizations. The
main objective of the colloquium is to update university teachers of
intellectual property in developing countries on the activities and
instruments of the WIPO and the WTO and to provide a forum for exchange
of information and ideas between them and the two secretariats on these
matters. The emphasis would be on recent developments and on policy
issues under debate in the two organizations. The colloquium would also
be an opportunity to exchange views on teaching methodologies and
outsourcing of technical cooperation.
This event is part of the programmes of the two organizations aimed at
enhancing the capacity of universities in developing countries and in
countries with economies in transition to develop national experts and
to offer advice to governments on matters dealt with by the WIPO and
WTO.
The working language will be English. Only 20 places are available for
the colloquium.
