Further information

The seminar is part of a decade-long project organized by the WTO in partnership with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES). Each seminar provides a unique opportunity for journalists from developing countries to delve into trade-related topics, with a view to improving their understanding of the WTO and global trade rules.

What does the course cover?

Participants will meet face to face with various WTO experts, delegates and representatives from the Geneva trade community. Background

Over the past ten years, the WTO has reached out to journalists specializing in trade and economic issues from the English-, French- and Spanish-speaking world to improve awareness of trade issues. The training courses have been very well received by the participants and WTO members.

The media plays a significant role in keeping its audiences well-informed about trade topics at a time when the WTO and its global trade rules are increasingly in the spotlight. The aim of the training courses is to ensure that journalists have direct access to the latest information on world trade so that they can accurately cover these issues when they return to their home countries.

Participation is by invitation only.
