Ordre du jour proposé

The Proposed Agenda can be found in document WT/GC/W/660 and contains the following items:

1. Report by the Chairman of the Trade Negotiations Committee

This is a standing Item on the Agenda.  The Director-General will report, in his capacity as Chairman of the TNC, on activities in this area since his last report in July.

2. Work Programme on Small Economies — Report by the Chairman of the Dedicated Session of the Committee on Trade and Development

Under this standing Item, the Chairman of the Dedicated Session of the CTD will report on the progress of work in the Work Programme on Small Economies.

3. Situation regarding the rights to the Havana Club Rum Trademark in the United States —  Communication from Cuba (WT/GC/147)

This item is on the agenda at the request of the Delegation of Cuba.

4. Improving the Guidelines for Granting Intergovernmental Organizations Permanent Observer Status in the WTO – Statement by the Chair

The General Council Chair will provide an update on her consultations on this matter.

5. Committee on Budget, Finance and Administration — Reports on meetings of July and September 2012

The Chairman of the Budget Committee will introduce the reports of the July and September 2012 meetings of the Committee, contained in WT/BFA/131 and WT/BFA/132, respectively. 

6. WTO Pension Plan

The General Council will consider the report of the Management Board of the WTO Pension Plan contained in document WT/L/863.  The Council is also expected to elect an Alternate to the Management Board, in accordance with a proposal by the Chair contained in WT/GC/W/659. 

7. Appointment of Officers to WTO Bodies — Negotiating Group on Market Access and Working Group on Trade, debt and Finance

The Chair will report on her consultations regarding the Chairmanships of the two bodies indicated above.
