AGRICULTURE ET DÉVELOPPEMENT: journées du coton

Workshop on cotton by-products (CBPs)

Geneva, WTO Headquarters - Room W

This workshop stems from the WTO-UNCTAD-ITC joint initiative on cotton by‑products as endorsed by WTO Members at the November 2018 meeting of the Director-General Consultative Framework Mechanism on Cotton (WT/CFMC/58).

The objective of the workshop is twofold:

  1. Collecting evidence and success stories on the contribution of cotton by-products to poverty reduction, food security, job creation, revenue diversification and the circular economy;
  2. Collect comments and questions by potential donors and technical partners for the WTO‑UNCTAD-ITC project on "Transferring technologies and know-how for the development of cotton by-products in eight pilot African LDCs". This project is a first key output of the WTO‑UNCTAD-ITC joint initiative on cotton by‑products.
